....and I am not sure if I will be going back. Now, from before we all agreed it was in a bad part of town. Well I just had to see for myself. We get in the parking lot across the street, and there are some people yelling and screaming, but I was not sure why. So I go into the New Town Tavern and there where three people sitting in chairs, like a area that looked like a keno area.....but there was no keno, no TV, they where just sitting there. We sit down at the bar and order a beer. The bartender was a very charming woman, who was not to happy we needed something. When she brings me the beer we ask if anyone is around that could sell us some poker chips? She says no we don't do that here. Thats it, walked away done deal. I took a drink of my beer and left. On my way back to the car, the bartender and someone from inside the bar followed us out and stood outside the door until we left.
I would not suggest anyone going there, during the day and especially not at night. I have a feeling they thought I was the police....I am not really sure. But it was a very uncomfortable situation, and wouldn't want anyone to be put in that place.
A report from the hood of North Las Vegas, glad we made it home!!
