This is poor practice in my opinion. You have used eBay's facilities to advertise your auction lot and you owe them a commission if you sell it. If you decide you want to sell it to someone in particular for a lower price, cancel the auction, put it in a Buy it Now auction, and tell your buyer about it. That way everyone gets what's due them.
