I am writing about another Newport, a nice little beach community in the middle of the Oregon coast, a little place that most of the people on the board will never see. A relative moved there, and last year, 2006, I finally got the chance to spend a week there. Before I arrived, I asked the help of chippers on the board to find gaming locations in the area. Newport is near Chinook Winds, which is about 45 minutes north along the coast. I hoped to pick up a few chips.

Newport is a charming place with four distinct areas. It has a beach front area near the lighthouse, a downtown section, a shopping district along the Northern end of the coastal area and the historic bay front which is reached by taking a left at the lighthouse, going past a picturesque bridge and entering a small, quaint wharf area. It was a terrific place to spend a week.

After that, I began to collect chips from Newport, Oregon. This year, my relative moved away, but kindly went to certain addresses I provided and took some pictures. These, together with my pictures from last year and my chips have led to this report.
