I went into Best Buy last night after much research on Big Screen TV's.... Yea I am JUST NOW getting one. Knowing what I wanted and knowing it was in stock I went in to buy it; while I was there I bought a bracket to mount it on the wall. Today I had coffee with a friend who told me, "Hey I bought a bracket sometime back and never used it. You can have it." Sure enough was the same one I bought. Since these things cost $164.00. I decided to take mine back. While at the service desk I told them I needed to return it -unopened-. They said OK, and the place was packed and hectic. A guy behind me was an old friend I hadn't seen in ages and we shot the bull while the girl took care of the return and I paid little attention to her. She handed me the ticket(s) and said my credit card would be credited. I said OK never looked at the ticket and left. Got home and looked at my ticket......
HOLY SMOKE!! .... They didn't credit me for the bracket! They credited me for the BIG SCREEN TV... almost $3,000.00!!
I went BACK in and told (another girl) I needed credit for the bracket and she cut me off and asked where the bracket was. I told her I brought it back earlier, and she got a little snooty and said that she wouldn't give me credit unless I had the bracket. I explained that I got credit for the TV instead of the bracket, she was looking at me like I was trying to pull a scam and she was not going for it! About then I got a call from my wife on the cell phone saying Best Buy was trying to reach me. I told her, I was AT Best Buy. She told me the girl's name and I asked for her. She came up and was almost in tears once she found the mistake. I told her I was about to leave the store and keep the credit because the other girl was so snooty (nice word for what I really wanted to call her). I thought the second girl was going to DECK the snooty one when she found out. Anyway, got it all straightened out.... a got a free $100 gift card for my honesty (I mean stupidity ) I hate it when my ethics are tested.... I would like it to involve enough money for once that I would FAIL! hahahaha It would have to be over $3,000 ... I just don't know HOW much over yet.
