As the chips prominently display the Penthouse key logo, and have obvious use, I didn't think they were from a home set. I emailed Atlantic Standard Mold (current HHR manufacturer) and Penthouse to see what I could see.
I have not heard from Atlantic Standard. The folks at Penthouse were great. I was passed along to their Director of Licensing. He put me in touch with Bob Guccione's General Counsel, and the unofficial "historian" of Penthouse, Larry Sutter.
Mr. Sutter told me that Penthouse had a casino in London in the late 1960's. They also had plans for one in Yougoslavia, on the Dalmation coast, but those fell thru late in the process.
He was not able to say for sure if this chip was from either.
London makes sense. I got the 2 chips from a retired doctor who travelled extensively from the mid-60's to the mid 80's. He had a chip from The Sporting Club in London which was from the late 60's.
Does this info jog a memory in anyone? I just started searching for "Penthouse London" info on the internet, but so far, nothing.
