As far as my collection goes, I have always felt wear and tear adds character, bacteria does not. After all, I collect CHIPS not DIRT!!!!! So, of I am keeping them, they usually get as minor a cleaning as I can live with. I don't care about the value either. I have some "valuable" ones, and they got cleaned. That is the way I like it.
The ONLY exception.....Atlantic City chips. I have tried to clean them, but they won't let me. I think one actually threatened me when I approached ot with a toothbrush. I thought I distinctly heard it say "Now you back off with that $heet, M.F.!!!!!" It scared me.
So all my Atlantic City chips stay dirty. In fact, I have some newer issue chips that I got uncirculated and I am seriously considering taking them with me on my next trip to A/C and rolling them under the Jitney for authenticity's sake. They need it! They WANT it!
Am I alone with these "dirty" thoughts? Do I need help....or just a bath?????
