I guess I missed that discussion, but once again someone else's post has prompted me to comment on something that I have been thinking about for quite a while.

I really don't understand why someone hasn't taken on the task of documenting the the chips of European and Asian countries. I'm thinking France, Germany, Spain, etc, and the Philipenes. Are there online catalogs of these countries that I just don't know about?

The challenge and satisfaction of documenting the casinos and chips of a country is just as much fun as collecting the actual chips. It's also a lot cheaper and more 'doable'.

When I began the Australia & New Zealand list, I had only three Australian chips and zero knowledge. There was no documentation of ANY KIND available, not even a list of chips, let alone scans.

In slightly over two years, in partnership with John Kallman, and contributions from dozens of collectors around the world, I have assembled the only known resource for collectors of A&NZ chips.

The return, in terms of pride of accomplishment and completion of a collection (scans only), far outweighs the minimal time and effort invested. Especially since I just do most of the research and John does all the the real work. I can't tell you how rewarding it is to get thanks and compliments on the A&NZ list from collectors IN AUSTRALIA!

The point of this little rant is not to blow my own horn, but to point out that ANYONE can do this.
Hurry! Grab your place in chipping history before someone else snaps it up! Pick a country and get going!
In a year, or two, your name could be a fixture in the chipping community, like Archie Black, Jerry Brill, or Greg Susong.
