The owner of these chips remembers when at age 12 (1948) his father took him to the bust-out joint "The Riviera" Club on Fisher Island (I think today it's West Palm Beach, Florida) to watch the police chop up the gaming equipment confiscated in a raid. His father was a waiter/dealer at this establishment whose registered owner was Charlie Schwartz. Schwartz worked for Meyer Lansky and also operated illegal casinos for him in Atlantic City. His father knew the boss wouldn't give him cash for the tips he received so he walked with the chips at the end of the night. "The Riviera" chips may have also be used in a northern New Jersey bust-out joint but there has not been a definite attribution.
Considering their age, these chips are in very good condition with sharp edges. Both of these RCTHRT chips are available for $95.00 postage paid. Thanks for looking, Chuck Tomarchio
