I loved the Wide World of Sports episodes! He would drag those things out for two hours!

I remember arguing with my mother about going to church (We always went to Saturday 5:00 mass) but if it was a Evel jump ON WWofS, I would beg to stay home to watch him! She made my father take me Sunday morning instead :-) That Kings Island jump was the greatest of all, over all the busses I believe. Just his back tire caught the landing ramp and ejected him off the bike. They would pick him up after the crash and interview him! Crazy!

Once he jumped a tank of live sharks here in Chicago (probably 10 years before "the Fonz" did it :-). My mother would not let me go to that special event :-)
