Maybe list the auction under the eBay user ID of a friend who is a long-time eBay user and can insist on checks or money orders only. You should use PayPal only for items you can afford to lose to scamers. .... .... .... Off topic, but BidPay looks very good as an alternative to PayPal, or to offer along with PayPal -- the fees are lower and the Seller Protection Policy is better.
