Chris,
Certainly I can respect your position. Actually, I'm glad that your position is based on what would appear to be intimate knowledge of the conditions at Foxwoods. I can respect an informed decision. A knee-jerk reaction of all unions are bad or all unions are good isn't in the best interest of anyone.
I've been semi paying attention to the situation at Foxwoods for about a year. (since the madatfoxwoods.com days)The unionization of Atlantic City dealers is also of interest.
I've been paying VERY close attention to the Wynn (contract negotiations) and Caesars (union vote scheduled for Dec. 22) drama since I'm a dealer in Las Vegas. (and to a lesser extent the organizational rumblings in Laughlin and the new organization campaign in Lake Tahoe)
Best Regards,
Murph
PS I'm NOT a religious person but I vividly remember a picture that hung in my late grandmother's bedroom. The picture depicted Jesus knocking on a door of a house. As a child, I didn't understand the picture. My grandmother explained that even Jesus wouldn't just barge into your home or heart--he had to be invited.
Although it might not be the best analogy, a union doesn't just barge into a workplace either. A group of concerned employees invited the union into their home and 60% of the Foxwoods dealers said "welcome".
