I don't have any official story but in Tunica the story is that a year or so ago Jack Binions daughter bought into Fitzgeralds (Jack couldn't due to a non-compete clause)and they were going to make all sorts of changes and expand. At that time a lot of Horseshoe employees were hired and they made some changes but the only construction so far is carpet replacement and removal of a lot of shamrock green. They are still talking about construction but not until next year. All of the publicity just calls the place the Fitz but they still have not changed chips.

On a similiar note (and this may be old news) I did hear that the Grand in Tunica is going to be the new Harrahs starting the first of the year. A pit boss friend wanted to know if he should buy a bunch of the Grand chips since they would become obsolete. I reminded him that the chips were first issued in 1994! On a personal note I don't know why Harrahs would not use one of thier upscale brands on the Grand (Caesars or Rio) since it is a very nice property.

I also hear that Sams Town (Boyd Gaming)would be interested in selling the old Isle of Capri property next to their Tunica property. Anyone want to get together to buy a casino? They only paid $8.4 million for it and now are using it to store boxes of corporate records. Think of all of the chips we could issue......
