my collection tastes have varied over the years, starting with obsolete Las Vegas fractionals that I could afford at the time, moving onto the Hard Rock stuff, more obsloete Las Vegas, coin-center chips, Las Vegas poker room chips, Las Vegas NCV chips, $1 current chips from Las Vegas...and most have all been sold back except for certain obsolete Las Vegas & the poker room / NCV chips.
Collect what you enjoy & what you can afford; but understand that, in most cases, you can't have them all. And the value in a year may be half of what you paid today, so collecting for investment is a gamble. But get to know the people in the hobby & in the & enjoy them...your time spent developing those friendships is time well spent .
