NCR, BankNote of the Day.....
Today’s banknote was pictured here some time ago by
David Spragg. He was kind enough to snag some of these for me when they first hit the banks on March 13, 2007. Thanks again David! As you have guessed it is a 2007 issue of the New 20£ Pound Sterling. These notes incorporate a number of new security features as well as a very nice design (IMO). The front features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the right, holographic foil strip with alternating Adam Smith and Denomination when tilted, the watermark has been improved and is sharper, new UV codes and micro lettering. Adam Smith, one of the fathers of modern economics is at left and an illustration of “The division of labour in pin manufacturing” at the center. This note has not established a book value but is seen on eBay for as much as double face value which FV is about $39.10; book value will be much less when initial demand eases. This one will command a slight increase over book because of the low serial number (thanks to David’s cat like reflexes grabing these! hehehe
).
ENJOY!
