I ordered sunglasses from a place in Texas.
I put the check in the mailbox Friday evening, after the mail had been picked up.
My new sunglasses were in my mailbox before noon on Monday.

Sneakers:
My mother sent a nephew some sneakers for his birthday.
She was really miffed that he didn't call to say thank you.
One year later, on his birthday, the nephew called: "Thanks for the shoes, Gram. They're great!"
