But the Club does offer a Code of Ethics that the members must abide by and the peace of mind that you are dealing with a person that is a member of a small community that is both trying to promote its hobby while at the same time, trying to have some fun. The biggest benefit, as I see it, is the great friendships that evolve with various members. The convention, for me, is not just an opportunity to look at & possibly purchase some great chips, but more an opportunity to enjoy a few hours with friends that I communicate with throughout the year, yet see only at the conventions. Names to faces, faces to names...it all matters.
As an example, at this convention I picked up a chip that was one of my "Holy Grails"...the dealer was someone that I met & knew through the
and he worked a great deal with me which allowed me to purchase that chip. Would you have gotten that same deal...doubtful.
Yes we argue, yes we're A-holes at times, yes we're opinionated, but we are also the best source for information & knowledge about chips that you could ask for. I hope you join...and if you do, I hope that you enjoy it as so many of us have. Steve B
