As a new member 41 years of age, the only suggestion I might make on how to attract newer members is to be more encouraging towards new posters (i.e. people without member #'s or last names in their posts) and do not immediately throw rules down people's throats. We should go out of our way to answer questions of newbies and ENCOURAGE not dissuade people to try out the board, get a feel for our members, and consider joining. New people walk in here every day just reading the board, and I am very sure many many walk out and don't get a favorable impression. Threads like this are case in point. Let the guy (Aaron) daydream about changing the name if he wants instead of throwing up roadblocks and discouragement. Where is the harm here? But hey, maybe I'm jaded already after only one month of membership.
I hope not.
