What was the "final value" from eBay's point of view. David stated that the bidder had placed two bids - since eBay does not raise your proxy bid when you place a second bid did they view the winning bid as the lower bid? I don't see any ethics problems either way - if eBay has issues with the transaction it should not matter to the club. I have never ended an auction early and I don't think I ever will but that is just a personal point of view - I feel I am obligated to the bidding community to keep it open for as long as I advertised it. Maybe its a good thing - it sort of sticks it to those dirty rotten snipers.... Congratulations on the sale!
