Assuming we are referring to a relatively common c&s, a chip found with a crack or with an inlay missing or with the litho worn off (and, hence, a rare one sided chip) or with a hole or with the color faded is no prize (when compared to a chip in relatively good shape). To think it is a prize is only kidding yourself. Then again, if it is marketed as a rare, unique chip when being sold, maybe I'm wrong. I wouldn't do such a thing.
