I talked today with my daughter, who runs a rental car agency just east of San Diego and lives in Mission Valley, near Qualcomm Stadium. She said the city was like a ghost town, with a lot of businesses closing their doors early in the day. She's about 15 miles from the fires, but since I'm about 2,500 from her, I'm still a little nervous.
