Re: New Chip Releases
Well, we go to Biloxi, Gulfport on a regular basis. The "biz" over there is not good, they are hurtin' for certain. The locals, since Katrina, are just getting back on their feet in most cases. We started going from day one, when the casinos first started. Now, it is a distant cry from anything like the big boys cities, but, nice as it is so close. I think the Island View is the only casino issuing LE chips these days, other than the Hard Rock. The pit bosses, the dealers, nice people and they care, or, at least, give that impression. We know most all of them, and enjoy the place. When we bought the Halloween Chips, they went out of their way to help us. A friend of ours bought a ton of em. I picked up a Mardi Gras chip, like new, off the crap table. My point, we go there, because they treat us like we matter, and we take all of our group there with us. Growing up in the casino industry, the LE chip thing seems to be a "win-win" for the casinos. Their name is on it, free advertising, somebody pays for the chip, it leaves the casino, (most of the time), never comes back, and you have a happy customer. There has to be a pretty good profit margin with this, even with the $1 chips, which are rare, LE wise, we think. Why we collect them? I have no clue, we just like it, tis fun, you meet some really nice folks, and
it's a good reason to just visit with our favorite bartenders, who have found us some really, nice chips. Cheers, later.
