Having read recent threads on the subject of these chips with interest, I need to point out, in my opinion, significant inaccuracies in what has been reported, and apparently some memory loss

Maybe 2 years ago, a lady posted on this board she had La Rue chips for sale. She would not disclose how many but conceded 'a handful'.
Gene demonstrated in the Palms Poker Room that a handful could be 8 racks He wanted to go for 10 but the shift manager said he would refuse to help pick them up if Gene dropped them so 8 it was
The seller did not respond. She offered all denoms at fixed prices, still leading us to believe there were just a few of each with perhaps a few more of the $1 and $5.
Now, in addition to those sold 'privately', ie direct to collectors and at least one dealer, they started to appear on ebay week in week out. Over the next year or so I note there were sales of approx half a dozen each 5c & 10c, a dozen each 25c & 50c, 39 of the $1, 17 of the $5 and half a dozen $25's.

I now know several dealers (excluding Paul Sax) that have them. I had some at one point and could have bought a lot more.
I suspect therefore the whole rack was found. I dont believe that Paul Sax had, to sell, "all that were available". His late friend either stumbled upon another small lot, or indeed bought his from the original vendor, probably under the false impression he had bought them all.

Worth noting that the current ebay seller is geographically located in the same place as the original seller was.
