() We actually spent 3 nights in Vegas, followed by 1 night in Carson City, 3 nights in Reno, 1 night in Ely, 1 night in Laughlin, then 4 more in Vegas.
Pyramid Lake was a side trip from Reno, Virginia City/Dayton/Mound House was another side trip from Reno, Crystal Bay was also a side trip from Reno.
We got $1 chips from Sands Regency and El Dorado in Reno, and from Topaz Lodge. That was it! There were many places that we didn't go into, and when we did go in I usually didn't think to ask for chips. 
I'm glad you enjoyed our trip...hope you get to do it yourself sometime, it's fun!
