Re: A question about LE'S
The question is what is the reason for introducing Limited Edition chips for a casino? Sure collectors (of which numbers are limited anyway) may purchase the chips to keep so the casino makes a little money but what would the size of the edition need to be to make this financially viable? 10,000 chips is way too many for even large casinos unless they are being sold via a retail outlet as they would have to be put onto the tables as 'live' cash chips. As casinos already plan for and budget for the amount of chips needed to operate their gaming tables why would they need 10,000 spare chips? this is extra work for the people who are responsible for the chip counts and the cage auditing. 1,000 chips is too few what casino would go to the bother of releasing a LE chip of 1,000 pieces to make what may be approximately ยข50 per chip, they could make this money in 30 minutes on any $25 BJ table or a couple of spins on a $5 roulette! Plus it is possible (theoretically) that if the casino cage started with all these chips in the bank and then people came and bought them all and didnt return them or use them in live games then the bank would be severely short of chips and could not do table fills when needed!
