It's a good rundown on the man these days and I'm sure he's made quite an impact on those who got to see him speak at our convention banquet a few years ago.

I recommend you consider doing what I did, hunt down a copy of his book, Next To Hughes. Try Impossible to read the thing without Mr Maheu's distinctive voice and style ringing in your head. The real story is so much more fantastic and interesting than the idiotic Howard Hughes folklore that gets dredged up too often. Picture this dinner table described in the book. Maheu meets Robt. Roselli at El Rancho Vegas and they're at the table with owner Belden Katleman and ZsaZsa Gabor. There's four tough guys!

And never ever skip the convention banquet.
