to Ely, where we planned to spend the night at the Nevada Hotel. Of course, we hadn't notified the Nevada Hotel that we intended to stay there...and they were full!

They sent us to the Four 7's motel about a block away, and we got a room

Strolled over to the Nevada Hotel to play. Blackjack in the basement (took just about 2 minutes for me to lose my stake ), and penny poker upstairs. They announced that it was 'free appetizer' night, and tonight's appetizer was the chef's special chili recipe. We didn't try it. We did go into the restaurant and tried the prime rib...bad idea. While waiting for the prime rib, I noticed they had cinnamon rolls that were the size of dinner plates! really! Wish I'd had one of those instead!
