Jim..been following your recent Deadwood thread. As an add-on to your comments about Deadwood Sturgis Motorcycle Casino Chips. Gold Dust produced a $5 chip annually since 1998. Four Aces produced a $5 from 2004, 2005 and 2006. No plans to continue (per cage manager). Cadillac Jack's had a 2003 out in limited edition. I get to Deadwood every few months, my nephew works at Cadillac Jacks and even the cage manager are not able to get a 2003 Sturgis chip. As luck would have it on September 12th I got one off Ebay. Only other bidder was a Bike collector that doesn't collect or care about chips. Luck of the draw. I am sending a scan of the chip to your email. My scanner will not produce an image I can download on the chip board.
While in Deadwood in September I visited with Michael Runge, Deadwood Historic Preserrvation and Arlette Hansen, Adams Museum in and effort to collect information about history of differant casinos in Deadwood. My plan is/was to creat a web page on South Dakota Casinos to include chip and token pictures and data. Maybe I was the unknown "collector that was in town". With your forthcoming Deadwood book(?) I don't want to reinvent the wheel.
Thanks for your kind comments on South Dakota. I could not agree more. That is why we live here!!!
