"...the two actual alpha-characters in the masked ID are really in the bidder's ID". I don't believe this to be true. When I'm NOT signed in on eBay, and I look at an auction (currently over $200) that I've bid on, those two alpha-chharacters have nothing to do with my eBay ID.
