Hiya William, what makes you think chip values inflate? This is a volatile hobby where chip populations change all the time. There is no reason to believe that older editions of chip guides state lower values than current. Keep in mind also that the guide authors DO NOT SET PRICES. You and I do in a way. The guides merely reflect what the authors see in the marketplace. Here is a chip that has made a significant downward plunge in value since the last editions of the guides were published. I noticed activity in this chip and pointed it out to the ChipBoard community but I was only using the same resources everyone in the hobby, including the folks who compile the value guides, has at their disposal. I keep current in the hobby the same way the dealers do, I "walk the mall" at
, look through binders at chip shows and hang out here.
Don't forget that most of the dealers are chip collectors just like you and me and also wish to have a happy, healthy hobby.
The field is open sir, if you wish to somehow supply the hobby with your vision of up-to-date chip values.
