David....you can cancel the bid.Go to eBay and look for the how to cancel a bid link.Then email the bidder and explain why you did that and tell him that he is more than welcome to bid again when you re-edit.Then,since there is no longer a bid, you can now either re-edit or cancel the whole auction and start again from scratch.
