I have only been a member of the club for a short time but what has become very clear is that just because you've paid your dues & have a piece of plastic stating you are in good standing doesn't mean you have to be nice, polite, honest or fair with your dealings.
Whilst being on this board & trading with quite a few members it seems that the majority of chippers out there are in it for the love of the hobby & if you can make a few bucks on the side to fund the next purchase then all the better. Unfortunately there are also the select few who are purely out for profit & don't care what bulls@*t they put out there get it. I could list links to many auctions currently running on ebay by MEMBERS claiming that fantasy chips are casino chips, or MEMBERS charging $7 to ship 5 chips when the cost was 92c, or saying that a chip was in "good condition" when it turns out to be a bin filler!! Their membership of the club is only another way to convince the unsuspecting buyer of their legitimicy. I could go on & on but what would be the point.
What I have discovered is that there are more than enough "good guys" in this hobby to keep me going for ever. Out of principle I will forever refuse to buy or trade with the "cowboys".
My mother all ways told me that "deep down everyone was good". For some though, that's 6 feet down.
Tim.
