...and I totally disagree with Chris. The last few paragraphs of the article spell out the key to A-Rod's future. If he's going to join the Yankees pantheon, he needs to stay in New York (I loved the line about the polite applause at future old-timers games.) The man is an awsome player, the best in the game now and over the past decade, and comparable to any of the Yankee greats. I doubt he'll tank again this post-season, but you have to realize that if it weren't for him, the Yankees would be watching the whole thing on TV. The whole Reggie comparison becomes less relevant as he's become more and more accepted by the New York fans and media. Not to mention that career-wise Reggie couldn't hold A-Rod's jockstrap.
As for the Angels, I was in my local Starbucks one day last week and I was waiting in line in front of Mike Scioscia (a fellow caffeine junky and neighbor). I asked him for a small PERSONAL favor... to beat the living crap out of the Red Sox, of course.
