The seller had been told it was a Shilo Inn chip from Newport, Oregon (I trust the seller completely). Certainly, the mold is the predominate mold used in Newport gambling locations. However, the "S" with laurels reminds me of a Sheraton logo, not a Shilo Inn logo. Here is another chip that was definitely from the Shilo Inn:
You can see the difference. I'm also not sure why the Shilo Inn would need two different $1 chips. It is my understanding that it was not a large facility (a table or 2).
Does anyone have an id for the top chip? Is it from Newport, Oregon? If so, is it from the Shilo Inn or somewhere else? Was it used for anything special? Any help is appreciated.
