I've been capturing scans of counterfeit ivory chips that are being sold on ebay. I've been displaying them on my website so that potential ivory buyers would know what they are buying. I should add that I have reduced the size of the original scans.

The seller of said counterfeits has called me and said that what I am doing is illegal and if I don't remove the scans he'll get a lawyer and proceed legally against me.

What say you on this board. Are the scans private property or are all rights to the scans lost once put on the internet?
