OK, so if i am reading it right, the Mets will win today (given that they have an 11 run lead and a no hitter through 7). That will put them 1/2 game back. So then if the Phillies win they (phillies) win the division, if they lose, they are tied for first with the mets and probably have a tie-breaker or some such.

Now if the Padres are leading by 1 game in the wildcard, then if they lose there could be a 3-way tie, and two will get in based on either winning the division or the wildcard. If the Phillies win and the Mets win and the Padres lose then its only a 2-way tie for the wild card and the phillies win the division by half a game.

Ok, math is hard. So at some point of the phillies and mets, they both could make it, or at least one will.

I sort of like poker better -- last guy with all the chips wins.
