Under "chips" there are these 6 equal categories listed:
¶ Sets
¶ Storage, Supplies
¶ Reproductions
¶ Individual Casino Chips
¶Poker Chips
¶Non-Casino Chips
The first three categories in the list are not that confusing. .... ...... As a practical matter, I think illegals, ivories, poker chips, casino chips, etc., will continue to be listed under "Individual casino chips," a popular most-viewed category
Anyway, we can have a lot of fun discussing what to put in the last 3 categories, above. Personal chips often come in sets and are advertising chips to a large extent. Seymour has a whole section for advertising POKER CHIPS. Seymour has an entire section in his book for gambling distributor advertising chips (samples?), which could have been used for sets in poker games. A lot of CASINOS have special POKER CHIPS with the casino name on them, reserved for poker games/rooms at the casino. Many ILLEGALS are from very plush places in the old days, often thought of as CASINOS. The IVORY chips (mostly poker chips, I guess) will always be put in the individual casino chips category, I bet. The no-cash-value chips from casinos (promotional stuff) could or could not be called casino chips (most would) or non-casino chips.
I always thought it would be nice and practical for eBay to have some mechanism (links) to devote a few words to explain what they wanted and didn't want in all the categories -- hints, advice, etc.
