Bottom line is, never forget, never forgive. Sept. 11, 2001 started out as a beautiful day with one of the bluest skies I can remember. Who knew that so many people were about to be murdered by radical cowards? Not to mention the 343 dead firefighters, the PD, PAPD, EMS workers and other first responders...and now the ones who are afflicted with all sorts of diseases as a result of exposure to the toxic dust. This is a death toll that will only continue to rise.
My next door neighbor is a Muslim, and a heck of a nice guy....I don't blame him personally for the attacks. On the other hand, I've had Muslim students who spoke out quite violently, while claiming their religion was a peaceful one.
Extremism in any form is dangerous.
But way back when I pledged allegiance to the flag in school, I meant it. I am an American first, plain and simple...and proud to be one.
