I won an auction with two chips available. eBay used to call these "Dutch Auctions". I won one and another bidder won the other chip at the same price. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=300140250790&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=020 Killer price, about 7 1/2ยข on the dollar against the example already in my collection. Paid w/PayPal and $4.60 for Priority Mail. Two weeks go by with no joy at the mailbox. I contact the seller, "2thegetgo" for an update. message service says the email was sent to Susan Smith but some person named Bjorn Koch is the responder. First story is that he'll have to dig through his reciepts to track this transaction. A few days later Bjorn tells me that mail service is being dorked up by "flooding in the mid-west" so delays are unavoidable. Hmmm, chip is being sent from Fernley NV. to Portland, OR.!
Today, my pal Bjorn tells me I'm not the winner of one of the chips. I write back and tell him to check the silly auction and that certainly considers me a winner and I paid way back then through PayPal. Bjorn just now emails me and it appears that he was unaware of this form of eBay auction and sent both chips to the alternate winner. I've just proposed the following: Refund my money and I'll walk away, no neg feedback or messy dispute resolution process. Stuff happens, am I right?
So if you run across any auctions by 2thegetgo keep this story in mind. I'm gonna eBay some chips soon and guess what?!? You'll get feedback as soon as your goodie hits the mail.
