Hiya Doug, thanks for the posing your question here! I live in Portland, OR. and I visit Reno as a vacation destination at least once a year. The main attraction of the area are the gaming choices offered. I can't see myself considering the Beverly Hillbillies Casino as worth more than a one time day visit. Carson City/Minden/Gardnerville just don't appeal to me in general and wouldn't be a destination. For instance, to access Lake Tahoe I usually take Mt. Rose Hwy from Reno as my first choice because of more favorable traffic conditions and scenic opportunities. This applies even if I choose to visit the south shore area. It would seem that there may be future hotel/casino development at the Reno end of Mt. Rose Hwy and with the ongoing improvements and expansion at Peppermill and Atlantis in southern Reno, taking a trip from Reno down to Beverly Hillbillies might be a tough sell to area visitors.
