Re: Jeff, was it in Las Vegas?
Yes In LV. Located between Dunes and where Monte Carlo is now. On that side of the strip. We use to stay at MGM ( Bally's) and walk to Little Caecar's in the strip center then to Aladin's. There was also agreat Chineese place at the end of that strip center. A 4 or 5 concrete steps at the end of walkway allowed you to go directly to Aladin's without having to go back to the street. We crossed the Street at about the Jockey club and continue down to the Tower of Pizza which may be it's real name. There was the round leaning tower out front of the restruant or it was part of it. Some New Yorkers moved to Vegas and ran the place. Wonderful Italian food. Later I found out the mob was involved and it really was the largest bookie joint in Vegas. By Bookie I mean illegal. I asked why illegal since sportsbook were OK. The answer I got was at all " legal" places bets were only accepted with money. Here it wasn't required, WE WILL COLLECT !!!
Always had dinner there and waited for the night coolness before walking back. The time frame would be 1970 to 1978.
I also noticed some people talking about the Waffle house tonight. I think it was about where we crossed or maybe an IHOP. I know it was connected to breakfast in my memory bank which does have some holes that are growing larger.
