LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.....IT'S CONTEST TIME!
OK...here we go:A way to save money,have fun,maybe lose some weight too:>)

There are two contests in all.One is for members who are willing to sacrifice one or more of their "spending vices" and are willing to actually try to save some of that vice money to enable themselves to get to next year's convention AND TO ACTUALLY SEE AND SHARE THE RESULTS IN HOW MUCH THEY SAVED FOR THE YEAR with the rest of the club.

The 2nd part of the contest is a real no brainer: members will have 1 guess at how much money will be saved by me and by my "savings partner" Dawn Satter from now(actually a few days ago),until June 4th 2008 which just happens to be my birthday.

The goal of the savings program will be for members to either cut out a spending vice(magazines;coffees;candy bars;junk food;useless garage sale junk;maybe cigarettes;dvds...anything you really do not need)or to at least cut down on that vice.

Every time you cut an item out during your day you are to place that money into a piggy bank or savings bank of some kind.The bank SHOULD be a bank which can be sealed in such a way that you can not readily open it unless by hammer or can opener so that you are not tempted during the year to remove money for laundry or potato chips or whatever.

The idea is to save as much as possible from now until June 4th.

As I mentioned,there are two contests.These are the rules for members who are willing to sacrifice a vice or two so that they can attend the show next year:

RULES FOR MEMBERS WHO ARE SAVING:
1.You MUST be a member in good standing in the CCGT&CC.
2.You MUST post a picture on this board with a picture of yourself with your bank!
3.You MUST tell us what "spending vices" you are willing to either give up,or at least cut back on over the course of the next 10 months.
4:You MUST agree to TRY and not open that bank at all until JUNE 4,2008.
5:You MUST agree to TRY and save as much a day as possible with the goal to be at least $5.00 per day.
6:When you post your picture PLEASE state this in your subject line:SAVINGS BANK PIC....along with your MEMBERSHIP NUMBER. NO OTHER INFO PLEASE!

On June 4th,2008,all banks will be opened and the total of each contestant's piggy bank savings for the year will be sent to me by email,and a prize will be awarded to ONE member chosen at random,who participated in this contest.The winner will be picked at random simply because some members will be able to save more than others.This is not a race...this is a goal!
NOW THE MAIN KICKER:Prizes will be awarded at the convention! This contest is set up so that you can attend the convention,so it is only fair that you go...right?

Because many of us are procrastinators,members will have TWO WEEKS from today SEPTEMBER 9,2007 to get there pics and banks posted on this board.
Entries close at 12:00PM PDT.

CONTEST TWO:
As I mentioned,Dawn and I are fully dedicating ourselves to the savings program for the year.On June 4th we will be opening our banks and counting our savings.
THE MEMBER WHO CORRECTLY GUESSES how much we are able to save without going over will win the grand prize! Simple huh?
Remember that my goal as well as Dawn's is to TRY and save $5.00 per day.Sometimes there will be more and sometimes less so take that into consideration.This is for the TOTAL of BOTH OF OUR BANKS!

4.Only one guess per member
5:Entry deadline is September 9,2008 at 12:00PM
6:Winner is closest guess to the total without going over.

PRIZES TO BE AWARDED AT THE CONVENTION.If you are not at the convention.....sorry,but no prize.

THERE WILL BE ONE PRIZE AWARDED FOR EACH CONTEST.
One prize will be a buy in at next year's club poker tourney!
The other prize will include chips from the new STARLIGHT CASINO opening in December in New Westminster BC.The chips will be the HOUSE $1.00 and $5.00 as well as new roulette chips(as many different ones as possible) AND...if they do have one...a GRAND OPENING chip.If they do not offer a GO,I will come up with something else from there to make it worth while.

To be honest,I have not yet decided which contest gets which prize yet BUT will announce that decision on September 9th when the contest deadline for entries officially ends.
So...there you go.Something for everyone.A goal to strive for.Money to save.Pictures to see and hopefully fun for many people.
