Lots of questions

I am new to this board, so please answer, or tell me if I have it right. These are questions not covered in the FAQs.

1. Why are $2.50 chips called "snappers"? I can think of a dirty/disgusting reason, but maybe I'm way off base.

2. Borland: do I have this right? Borland makes, for collectors, modern chips honoring closed casinos.

3. NCR, NCV, GO, TCR: [post is] "not chip related"; "no cash value"; "grand opening" chip; not sure what TCR is!

4. What is a "splashbar" chip?

Thanks for all your help!
