One of my more unusual finds at the Convention, this is a steel mold used to compress the soft clay and produce a chip with a mold design. This one made for Harveys at Lake Tahoe. The blue chip next to it fits exactly; as you rotate the chip in the die, it "clicks" into place. The center surface is textured and produces the background for hot-stamping a design on the chip. A little rust has started to build up on this one, but the die is not cancelled.
Three threaded holes in the reverse allowed bolting the die into the molding machine. Pretty heavy steel, and weighs a half-pound.
