Shuffles Card Room, Florida

I made the trip out to Ebro, FL, yesterday to play a little $1/$2 NLH. The newbies are still coming out since the 1 July gaming regulations changed. Shuffles, as their card room is named, has yet to order any new chips above the $5 drop chips previously used. Rumor last month was that they were turning their $.25 yellow hot stamp chips into $10 chips by applying a sticker. This was the same method used to convert their $.50 chips into $2 chips. In play on Saturday were only $1 and $5 chips. It looks like they removed the $2 chips for good as it confused the players and dealers.
While playing in the cash game they were preparing for a sit-n-go. A couple dealers and the floor person had several boxes of new chips and were applying stickers. These chips were used during the tournaments. I didn't get a good look at these chips to see if they were some sort of generic sticker or if they had the Shuffles logo. When I find out I'll let the Board know. In the meantime if someone has images of the Shuffles tournament chip sets and can post them I'll at least be able to tell you if the new ones are different.

Also of note were several "under 21" players. The guy I was sitting with at my table said he and 6 friends piled into an SUV and drove the 8 hours from Baton Rouge. They were all between 18 and 20 years old and it's the closest casino they can play in legally. grin
