Carl Osborne has already named some and will name more dealers that knew his chips were fakes when they bought them and in at least one instance the dealer bought the entire run.
IMO there was a huge conspiracy in the hobby to make collectors think all of Borland and Osborne chips were real. It worked as far as you are concerned.
Jimbo "There was no incentive (profit)"
Gene "WRONG"
"I don't honestly believe he could have made all the chips he is being accused of making in a lifetime."
113 different counterfeits IDed so far. I think he could have run those off in a week or so. He only made a few 100 of each. He only made the hot stamped ones. Atlantic Standard made all the inlayed ones, some 625 different runs. Now tell me Borland did not have the time to make 625 phone calls or faxes to Maine!!!! BTW all those faxes exsist. Time has faded them and they are a little hard to read.
"I have often said there is no such person as an "expert". I certaintly am not"
You certainly seem to be an expert with "Bull and Balony" when describing others research.
"I attempted to purchase his records but was unsucessful."
Please tell us why you did not buy them as I know from others they were for sale.
I put out the $ to buy every record I could find and paid to have them put on a web site.
"As did many of the other old timers in the club who remain silent for fear of upsetting Gene."
Why are they afraid of upsetting Gene?????? Many in the past have disagreed with me and I don't remember putting out contracts on any of them. Well maybe I did think about 1 or 2.
BTW Jimbo, I think up the thread you said something to the effect " Borland made chips for open casinos."
Can you show me any proof of that? Can you name any even if you don't have proof?
Take it away Jimbo, your turn, I am available to dispute you and fully intend to get the last word in this thread.
