Yes it did. What someone then did was to sand, grind, or buff away the resulting ridges, then buff the inlay up so it wouldn't be noticeable.

What you will find though is that this chip did have a textured inlay, and now the center area won't be textured, it will be smooth and you will only see the texture near the edges of the inlay.
