Re: Anyone notice the LE market at the convention?

I took some pretty heavy flak a couple years ago when I called LE's pretty junk and suggested that they would become passe due to a market glut.

As in any collecting market, any item made specifically to appeal to collectors seldom retains any value.

I feel sorry for anyone who paid too much for these and is now taking a bath.

Once again it comes back to: Buy what you like because you like it, not for appreciation or future profits.
Professional dealers are excepted from the above advise. But for them it's: Pay your money and take your chances.

Someone else might want to comment on this thought:
IMHO the only legitimate LE's are Grand Opening chips (and to a lesser extent, anniversary LE's).
I think that these will hold their value or even appreciate.
I can't say the same for Halloween, New Year's Eve, Horse Racing, Super Bowl, and Drag Racing LE's.
Just my opinion. grin
