Mark, back in 1962-3 when I was stationed at Mountain Home AFB,ID (fighting communists - remember them?, I think we beat those guys!). A buddy and I used to drive down to Jackpot and or Elko. We played at Diamond Jim's in Jackpot and Commercial Hotel in Elko but I wasn't collecting chips on my $100+/- per month back then. How it worked was when there was an "ORI" and for some reason I didn't have to scramble we'd run over to the Chaplain's Office, a buddy(!), get declared "Dead in initial attack," get a pass, and we'd have a couple days to use up.
