NCR - My Sturgis story

I have never actually been to Sturgis so this isn't that kind of story.

My wifes sister lives in far eastern South Dakota in the Brookings area and at least 10 years ago, we headed north on I-29 for a visit, which we found out later was the Saturday of the first weekend of Sturgis. We saw tons and tons of bikes during our drive north and were pretty much amazed by the sheer number we saw. BUT nothing prepared us for what we would see the following Thursday when we were driving back home.

When we were headed home, we got into Sioux Falls and more specifically the I-29/I-90 junction and that is where it all started. I was bored a little ways south of Sioux Falls and my wife was asleep (typical!) so I started counting bikes headed north on the other side of I-29. I got tired of counting after 10 minutes had passed and I had counted over 200 bikes all headed north and those were all bikes being ridden, not trailered (Trailered Harleys SUCK.) grin It continued that way for the next 3 1/2 hours until we left I-29 and cut over into Nebraska. Quite an amazing display of machinery!

Cheers!
Bill
