There were two different versions of the clean air thing up for a vote....amazingly, they enacted the stricter of the two.

But when I was there in January, the law was so new that the smokers lounges were still open....so I went in and lit up. I was wondering why it was empty and there were no ashtrays....then a mechanic stuck his head in and said "dude- no more smoking....$500 fine!" ...and he pointed to this tiny sign scotch taped to the door that said 'no smoking.'

So I put it out quickly and left the lounge just as two Metro cops walked by....I know they saw me too, but they let it go. I got lucky.

It's the way the world is headed though.
